It seems probable that the attack on

Sergeant Glendiming was the result of his having brought a charge of larceny against Teja Singh on the previous day.

After the conclusion of the Coroner's

inquest which is now being held, I shall transmit to you full details of the tragedy, together with the verdict returned by the jury.
